Tour Big Sur, our Spectacular (south of San Francisco) Coast

bigsur Let's go to Big Sur! the famously beautiful stretch of Pacific Ocean coastline. We include stops in Monterey & Carmel—they're en route. To feast one's eyes on a great panoramic view of the Big Sur coast, you can take a strenuous hike in Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park...or join us for lunch on the terrace of the legendary Nepenthe restaurant or at the Post Ranch Inn, one of Zagat's highest rated. For a somewhat shorter itinerary we can stop at vista points before and after the iconic Bixby Bridge (the one you've seen in nature calendars and sportscar ads, with the 10-story arch). If you're a devotee of rare (and beautiful) phenomena, you may choose to spend an additional hour or so in order to take in the spectacular! McWay Waterfall, which shoots out from a cliff to drop 80 feet to the beach below.

Back in Carmel or Monterey—having stopped several times along the way to enjoy incomparable vistas—you can visit art galleries, an old Spanish mission church, historic Cannery Row, Clint Eastwood's B&B or a world-class Aquarium. Unlike with other companies, if the fog is thick and unrelenting, you won't spend hours peering through a gray mist: we'll seek out other activities for your enjoyment. We also can feature a winery visit or arrange for a walking tour by a local expert. No one lucky enough to see Big Sur on a clear day fails to say "Wow!"

What will it COST?

Because each tour is designed to fit your interests, our fees vary. Basically you pay by the number of hours in your itinerary. We do not add the fuel surcharges, "license fees," "tax" and mandatory gratuities that many other companies do.
