Redwoods, then Wine Tour

Right after breakfast we cross the Golden Gate Bridge, travel up the flanks of Mt. Tam and down a sharply winding road into Muir Woods Redwood Forest to catch the best light and beat the crowds. You may join a ranger's walk or just experience the woods on your own… before picking up a souvenir or browsing the bookstore. Driving back out of the canyon and onto the interstate, we reach premium grape-growing regions further north by lunchtime: the Napa, Sonoma or Russian River Valleys. You may prefer to eat quickly from a gourmet deli or a more leisurely stop at a memorable restaurant. The afternoon is optimized by tasting at 3 or 4 wonderful wineries, exploring the mysteries of viticulture—or some other culinary activity of interest—while enjoying spectacular scenery.

   Because limos are expensive (check the "tax" + other extra fees) and in them you're not positioned to see the scenery to advantage. Big buses marry you to a hurried crowd. And who wants to be the designated driver trying to find one winery in 500? On weekends and in summer the main highways around Napa and Sonoma can back up for miles. We know the scenic backroads, with their less-frequented wineries boasting excellent wines and offering private tours.

What will it Cost?

Because each tour is designed to fit your interests, our fees vary. Basically you pay by the number of hours in your itinerary. We do not add the fuel surcharges, "license fees," "tax" and mandatory gratuities that many other companies do.

   *These fees are for couples, groups of up to 6/7 people or solo travelers. For groups of 7 to 25 (whereby we charter a minibus), please ask for a quote.

 **A gratuity is customary and will be appreciated, but is not required.
