FIFA Soccer/Football!

    If you're considering coming to the San Francisco Bay Area for the FIFA World Football/Soccer Championship at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara (a city less than 40 miles from both San Francisco and San Jose, mid to late June 2026...your best bet for the games themselves and entertainment connected to them is PUBLIC TRANSIT...plus lots of patience. As long as you are relatively close to a BART or VTA or Caltrain station, you can get to and from Levi's Stadium with relative ease. If you've never been to the San Francisco Bay Area, you may want to consider coming a day or two early, or staying over a couple of days for a customized itinerary featuring our stellar attractions and world-class restaurants.   
   
    As soon as you decide which teams you want to see play, book your most affordable hotel room, then work with us to plan separate days in at any of our DESTINATIONS (San Francisco, Napa, Sonoma & Silicon Valleys, spectacular Big Sur, redwood forests, etc.). Tickets for FIFA are likely to sell out months in advance.  

    A Friend in Town can help you optimize your time if you come a day or 2 early, or stay over a day or 2 in order to experience San Francisco and its best attractions in the comfort of a private tour. For example, let's say that you've always wanted to see some of Big Sur and you're staying in San Jose...I will pick you up at your hotel...we drive to Monterey, then along the scenic 17-Mile Drive to Carmel-by-the-Sea, then as far south as the iconic Bixby Bridge...and back, all in a 9? -hour day. Or we do Muir Woods redwood forest in the morning, coming back across the Golden Gate Bridge in the afternoon to experience the places that make San Francisco famous, and fun. Our fees are competitive, and based on duration and distances, but in the neighborhood of $775 (not per-person) for a 9-hour itinerary. Please note that groups of more than 6 may require a minibus, chartered several weeks in advance.
