This year why not give (to your children, family. neighbor) something that's unique and un-forgettable?
“Tis the Season to be Jolly!” So for $330 (not per-person) for individuals or groups up to 7, you may spend 4 hours enjoying…not worrying about parking or traffic:
the Skystar Ferris Wheel, panoramic view and sea lion colony at Pier 39
the 2-story Gingerbread House inside the Fairmont Hotel on Nob Hill...plus Holiday Tea if we schedule far enough in advance
the traditional Christmas decorations in the lobby of the Palace Hotel (with Ghirardelli pop-up candy store)
Union Square’s giant Tree, Menorah and ice-skating rink plus the adoptable pets and quaint window displays at Macy's
Alameda’s Fernside neighborhood where the residents make special efforts to dress up their dozens of quaint houses and yards…sometimes Santa’s there too
the grounds of Oakland’s Mormon Temple, the most spectacular lighting display in the East Bay
You may have your own suggestions—Oakland’s elegant Dunsmuir House, the Glow-fari at the Oakland Zoo next door. (For each hour beyond the originally planned 4, we add $75.) Often we end up at the famous Fenton’s Creamery, or Ghirardelli Square for ice cream or fudge.
Of course, all of our other year-round tours make great gifts too. (The Holidays Tour, however, is only available between November 25 and January 1/2.) A reliable forecast of heavy continuous rain is the primary reason any tour would be canceled; in fact, the only tours that don't work well with inclement weather are Big Sur and West Marin.*
This year why not give (to your children, family. neighbor) something that's unique and unforgettable?
