Pacific Grove,  near Seventeen-Mile Drive

California's Coast

You want to experience the California coast you've heard to much about! So we head south to picturesque Monterey & Carmel-by-the-Sea, the famous 17-Mile Drive & Pebble Beach...all the way to the Bixby Bridge at Big Sur, or spectacular McWay Falls, or the Santa Cruz Boardwalk. Maybe you've heard about magical monarch butterflies and want to see them for yourself.
Head north then towards the Ocean to explore West Marin, where you discover the Pt. Reyes lighthouse and a herd of free-range elk. Go even further to quaint Mendocino (a New England-style town on a oceanside cliff via the beautiful Anderson Valley (famous for its wineries and breweries). Maybe you want to spend the night, and with two days available, savor bracing ocean air, ride horseback, linger in art galleries, watch migrating whales, enjoy world-class brews and wine, sink into a hot tub. You'll regret not spending more time on our Pacific coast.
