Where to EAT?  A few of the Best Places for Memorable Meals

Here are some restaurants that our clients have appreciated and locals regularly enjoyed: they offer exciting food in beautiful (or at least interesting) settings, with professional service. Feel free to also consult Open Table (a website that makes it easy to book reservations and offers free bonuses with frequent use), Eater or Zagat for other opinions. In 2019 before the pandemic there were over 4000 restaurants in San Francisco alone, more per capita than in any other city in the Western Hemisphere or Europe. The pandemic took its toll but those that survived...and the hundreds of new openings...are out-standing!
Of course if you're a gourmand, you may already know that Oakland...just across the Bay by ferry/bus/BART...was named the #1 "Best Food City" in the U.S. by Conde Nast magazine (October 2024). Oakland gets more than its share of negative publicity, but visitors may be surprised at the beauty of its lakes, foothills, the vibrancy of its commercial districts. Always newsworthy (and also quite beautiful) Berkeley is next door. You may want to reserve half or full day to experiences our tour: Oakland and Berkeley --Surprise! Surprise!

Food trucks have popped up all over the Bay Area. Don't overlook them...an order from a food truck could turn out to be the best thing you've tasted this week.
